Hospira Bacteriostatic Water for Injection, USP is a sterile, non-pyrogenic diluent intended for use in reconstituting or diluting medications prior to administration. Each 30 mL multi-dose vial contains bacteriostatic water with 0.9% benzyl alcohol, which acts as a preservative to inhibit bacterial growth during multiple withdrawals.
Intended Use:
This product is designed for use as a sterile diluent in compounding or reconstitution of injectable drugs, where preservative-containing water is appropriate. It is not intended for direct intravenous infusion without proper dilution.
